TRE
Nursery... Saint Paul
Campus...
Chad Giblin, TRE Nursery
Manager, is again looking
for individuals to that
would like to volunteer
time in the TRE nursery.
Again, in 2009 Chad and
his crew are looking
at a busy season. Work
in the TRE nursery often
requires extra hands
to collect data and it
is a great opportunity
to learn while you work.

Girl
Scout Council of St.
Croix Valley
The Girl Scout Council
of St. Croix Valley helps
girls grow strong through
varied program opportunities
like GirlSports, our
Physicians of Tomorrow
mentoring program, troops
and groups, and Adventurers-
a series of exciting
program events for 6th
through 12th grade girls.
In Girl Scouts, girls
aged 5-17 build character
and skills for success
in the real world. With
the support of committed
adult volunteers, they
discover the fun, friendship,
and power of girls together.
Many flexible volunteer
positions are available.
Currently they need volunteers
to lead program sessions
on ecology, birding,
animals, trees, water
quality, recycling, and
prairies, just to name
a few. If you have a
special interest, they
will design a program
for you. Here’s the extent
of the commitment: attend
volunteer training, then
lead 2-3 program sessions
per school year in different
areas of the council.
(The program sessions
last from 2-4 hours each
depending on the program.)
For more information
about this opportunity
and others please contact Janet
Sanders at 651-227-8835,
or visit their website.
Miscellaneous
Community
If you go to VolunteerMatch's
website there is
an option where you can
enter your zipcode and
it brings up various
volunteer opportunities
in your area. If you
choose the "Environment" category
it will bring up various
opportunities you can
use to contribute as
a TCA - Greening The
Great River had some
posted on there. I will
try and check the board
regularly to see what
is listed and post them
here, but I do not know
how widespread all the
TCA's are so I may miss
some.
